A week before our retreat, I wasn’t really excited compared to my classmates. Maybe it’s because of my not-so-good retreat experience when I was still a grade six student here in Letran. I didn’t get the chance to explore the place since our adviser back then was very strict. (Ma’am Fransisco it is.)
But I just thought that maybe things will be different this time. I have a cool adviser, fun classmates, and I know that this experience will be something that I can treasure after I graduate highschool.
I came to school as early as seven am. So while waiting for the rest of our classmates to arrive, we gave our retreat letters to our friends. I am so happy to receive manyyyy letters even though I’m not asking anyone to give me one. I told myself “Kung sino lang yung makaalala” so to those people who didn’t forget to give me letters. I thank you so much.
Before leaving our school, Sir Opu asked our class president to inspect each bags if there are gadgets hidden. We are not allowed to bring gadgets in the retreat house because according to them, it will ruin the whole essence of the retreat. Unfortunately, I brought my cellphone with me. Well, of us did. (Confiscated it is)
We arrived in Calaruega, Batanggas around two in the afternoon. We headed straight to the session hall where we got oriented of the do’s and don’ts during our stay here. I guess no one payed attention to what they were saying since all of us were excited to explore the place and take pictures.
After the orientation, we went to our dormitory (girl’s dorm is separated from the boy’s of course). We were given a lot of time to rest, to fix our things and to prepare ourselves for the first session.
Since Sabrina and I aren’t that tired from the trip, and all of our stuffs are settled, we decided to wander around the place while we still have time. I was so mesmerize on how picturesque the place is. (Just like what I’ve said earlier, I didn’t get the chance to wander around this place before. Though it’s my second time being here.)
It’s a yellow day to some of my classmates. lol.
After wandering around and taking pictures, Sabrina and I went to the session hall since the first session is about to start. Each sessions, has a specific topic and the priest assigned will give a short talk regarding the topic, and we will be given an activity afterwards.
Our first activity is to make our very own personalized inbox. Where anyone can put letters inside at anytime. We will hang our envelopes on the letter boards and we are only allowed to read it on our last day, before going home.
We had our dinner around seven in the evening. To be honest, dinner’s too early for me. At home, we usually have our dinner around eight to nine. Okay share lang guys. Anywwhooo. The place looks so magical at night with all the lights. Plus, it’s super duper cold. I should’ve brought my sweater or hoodie but I didn’t. Because #YOLO.
To end this post, here’s a creepy picture of me. Woooooo ~~~~~
